Part time courses are typically completed over 2 years or to 3 years . However, missed classes can be made up during your enrolment period with a limit of two make-up classes per term. Make up classes are subject to availability in a suitable class. Classes will allow you to get practicing sketching with techniques designed to tune you into your surroundings and increase confidence. Calligraphy, often compared to abstract painting, combines various artistic elements like form, line, space, ink, and texture. Dating back to ancient times, Chinese calligraphy has a history spanning over 4000 years, originating from the legendary Xia dynasty . We’ve all known for a while that practising art is great for relaxation and focus, but much of the research focused on things like drawing and brush-based painting. Acrylic painting allows even more of us to tap into the many benefits of practising art by allowing us to break away from the restrictive techniques of traditional art. Without having to worry about things like perspective and realism, you can relax, play around with colour, and see where your creativity takes you. When you finish an acrylic pouring class, you’ll be so excited to incorporate this liberating and rejuvenating practice into your regular self-care routine.

You will receive guidance and support from a practising artist tutor, as you spend a relaxing afternoon sketching the streets around Rozelle with a small, informal group. Our workshop program for adults runs year-round and includes one-day and two-day weekend workshops or masterclasses. Occasionally, we run specialised workshops at other times throughout the year and workshops with special guest tutors. We carefully curate workshops for beginners and intermediate artists so there's something for all experience levels.
Achieve your desired glaze effects with the help of a practising ceramist. Watercolour lessons are great for beginners as the paints are relatively inexpensive and very easy to mix. Your lessons will include colour theory, mixing and blending colours, using painting paper and tools, as well as a composition technique.
Our family of tutors include some of Australia’s best award winning artists, professional art practitioners and educators. Tutors include winners and finalists in some of Australia’s most prestigous art prizes including the Archibald Prize, the Moran Portrait Prize & the Gallipolli Memorial Prize. The tutor’s role is to give “in studio” instruction on techniques combined with personal feedback to help develop your technical and professional skills as an artist.
