Reading and role-playing are frequent activities in our Pakenham curriculum. Recently, children in Woodland Kinder room explored the beloved book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. As they read, the children got to "feed" the caterpillar, learning about the days of the week, counting, nutrition, and the life cycle of a butterfly. Little Stars recognises that parents are the first and continuing carers and educators of their children. The centre aims to function as an extended family, providing a secure and trusted environment. Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of six and “Nanny” to ten wonderful grandchildren. I have sent both of my children to this centre, and they have been absolutely amazing with them. I have been so impressed with their programmes and learning techniques especially in the kindergarten room and 3-year-old room. I am completely confident that my child is ready for school with the thanks to all the staff and especially the kindergarten teacher. The educators hold relevant qualifications, including the Kindergarten and Preschool Program teachers who are university qualified. The educators are lifelong learners, participating in regular and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector.
Both Pakenham and Berwick centres offer a high-quality, experience-based curriculum personalised to every child’s strength and learning style. Our Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers deliver an excellent kindergarten program tailored to prepare children for school. Our kindergarten rooms are equipped with ICT resources and an abundance of art and craft materials.
In 2025, eligible children can access up to 15 hours of kindergarten per week. If your child is born between 1 January and 30 April, you can choose to start kindergarten the year they turn three or the following year. For families using our long day care services, the funding is applied as a fee offset.

This gives you the opportunity to see the centre and meet the Centre Manager if you are out of area or if you can’t attend in person. If your child becomes unwell while at the centre, teachers will make them comfortable and ask you to pick them up.
